Pretty good range except for one issue.

So far a pretty good electric range except for one issue: it REALLY has a pretty strong heat exhaust from the vent on the front, underneath the control display panel. It's the black horizontal line in the picture right under the controls display. This really heats up the entire kitchen after about .5 hours of use (the oven).

Slow oven

The stove top works as expected. But the oven takes 12 minutes to reach 350 degrees, a common baking temperature. The 35 year old electric stove that we replaced took 6 minutes to do the same. Maybe I'm unreasonable, but it seems a modern oven should take less time, not twice as much.

New features not available on the old range were easy to learn and adapt to. Once I install my new Frigidaire microwave and dishwasher, I will have a complete Frigidaire kitchen.

I've only had this range for about a month, but so far, I'm liking it. I wanted a range without too many bells and whistles, had a clean design, and got good ratings. This one fit the bill. It works well and looks nice. I appreciate that everything is metal, except for the knobs. (My previous range had some white plastic trim that yellowed with age and looked nasty.) If I had any complaint, it's that the range does have a smell when baking. According to the manual, this is normal, and to run the oven empty for about 30 minutes of bake time to burn it off. We've baked a total of about 5 hours and the range still has that new, weird, unpleasant smell. It's not as pronounced as it was at first, but definitely didn't take only 30 minutes to burn off like the manual would suggest. Otherwise, all is good.

I chose the Frigidaire stove because it is made in America. I needed a stove with the knobs low and in front. I am in a wheelchair and by the knobs in front and low it makes cooking a little bit easer for me. I cooks very good. I gets hotter than my old one so it took some time to learn the stove, but it work great.

The preheat time is about 8 - 9 minutes, which is great. The burners on the top are easy to regulate and having the quick boil burner is a time saver. The glass top looks great and with the right cleaner it is easy to clean and make it look great. My only complaint and why I gave 4 and not 5 stars is the Delay Start is only up to one hour. I am used to being able to set the oven delay on my old oven up to 9 hours in advance. That was such a convivence and pre heat time saver when I wanted to bake biscuits in the morning. Or have the oven ready at dinner time, by setting it up in the morning. Other than that I am happy with the new stove.

Be careful with the knobs

I'm sorry I bought this model. I shouldn't have bought a range with knobs in the front. You lean on them and they easily turn on. I had a burner I didn't know was on and it burnt a mat that I had on the top of the stove. The mat was placed there to protect the glass. I will try and find protective covers for the knobs.

Relaced a Gas unit with Electric

So far it's a wonderful upgrade. Very happy to be able to switch to electric. WARNING: the electric range is pretty flat in the back, gas units have space to accommodate the gas line behind the unit. Until I get a plumber back to trim the gas pipe, the electric unit will sit about 6in away from the wall. Heats up fast, really saved on cooking time. Love the design with the knobs on the front instead of the back. Great choice for mid-range unit, we'll see how it holds up. Steam clean is a nice choice, no electric coils to mess with in the oven. You still need to scrape and brush any larger food particles, but the steam option should help reduce the use of cleaning chemicals in the home.No bells and whistles, perfect for an apt building. Wifi enabled appliances are such a waste of money. It is a little more narrow than my OG gas unit, but comparable oven space.

I love the way this range looks, and it is working perfectly fine. My only complaint is that I got this range to replace a very old one, and the old one was better quality in someways. This new one feels a little bit cheap in comparison. The metal is thin and the gap between the oven door and oven wall is uneven. But it is working fine, and it looks great.

No more leaning over a hot burner to turn it off. The wider storage drawer makes it easier to get a pan out. The smooth finish on the oven door handle makes it so much easier to clean! I'm still waiting for the opportunity to use the rest of the features. Wish the light came on when the door is opened.
